The highlight of Chuck Manetta's life was serving in the Korean War fifty years ago. Now he is reluctantly enlisted to baby-sit his soccer-obsessed twelve-year-old granddaughter Jenny. Having been recently promoted to the junior varsity soccer team, Jenny is just as displeased with this new arrangement as Chuck is.
When Chuck puts her through a mini soccer boot camp, the two don't see eye to eye at first. But soon Jenny discovers the old soldier might be the soccer coach her father isn't. Eventually a strong bond between the two develops, and Chuck realizes that this war was one worth fighting.
